3-nights in Fes

Fes is of course the diamond in the crown of Morocco’s Imperial cities. Home to the world’s first university, the oldest walled ‘Medina’ city on earth and some of the most stunning architecture in North Africa, Fes is a feast for the senses.

During your stay in Fes, we recommend taking a full day guided tour to see the main sites and to visit the potteries, tanneries and markets.

Another worthwhile experience to add to your list is a well organised culinary class which we can offer you right here at Riad Maison Bleue in our own purpose-built cooking school.

On your second day in Fes you might consider leaving the city and heading up into the middle Atlas Mountains. Here you will drive and walk through stunning scenery, visit traditional mountain villages including Sefrou and Azrou.

1-Night in Erfoud / Merzouga

Set off on an epic road trip through the Middle Atlas and down into the Sahara to Merzouga where you will experience the magnificent dunes (the highest in Africa).

Overnight in Erfoud at a hotel or in a desert camp at the food of the dunes.

1-Night in Zagora

Drive on to Zagora (around 3 hours’ drive from Erfoud via Tazzarine) through the desert and passing spectacular desert scenery scattered with villages.

Overnight in Zagora.

2-Nights in Skoura

Drive to Skoura (around 3 hours drive) passing through the Stunning Draw valleyed then through amazing ‘lunar-scape’ mountains from Agdz to Skoura.

2-nights in Skoura which enables you to visit the Kasbah of Skoura and the Kasbah around Ouarzazate including the oasis village of Fint.

Drive to Marrakech (around 3 hours form Ouarzazate) across the High Atlas Mountains taking the Tiz n’Tichka pass. This is a drive through absolutely stunning mountain and village scenery. One you will not quickly forget.

2-Nights in Marrakech

Arrive Marrakech and relax before heading out to explore the wonders of this exciting city, different to Fes but with lots to offer including an amazing array of wonderful places to eat out, party, adventure activities for couples and families.
